persuasive writing

This term, I learned how to write a counter-argument and what it needs. A counter-argument is when you acknowledge the other side's opinion but you bounce back and say yours is better.

Deers must not be eradicated from NZ!

People might think deer are just a possum on a stilt but I don't think so, deer are extraordinary things; they can run up to 50km per hour. How cool. Deers should not be eradicated. I will tell you why.

Deer are a healthy food choice because it has a lower fat content than other red meat and it is a cheaper way to provide for the community, your amazing whanau, and yourself. Also, it is a good sport for males and females to get out of the house and lose some weight, it's as good as any cardio.  Hunting gear can be heavy, especially rifles, and lifting it consistently will sculpt those bicep muscles.

Hunting deers are jobs and income for many people in hunting stores. If people eradicate them all by shooting them from helicopters. They won’t get much income, their jobs would just be crushed and most of all they might not have any money to pay for the bills and provide for their family.  According to the Department of Conservation, in New Zealand deer have no natural predators. This means they can grow to large numbers without the support of hunters and others to aid in their management. Hunters could help balance the ecosystem by putting them in different areas of New Zealand and by hunting them for sport.

Some people believe deers damage native forests by feeding on forest plants, trees, and all the birdseed; I believe deer are just like any other living thing in Aotearoa. For example, cows eat grass, giraffes eat leaves from trees and they might bump off nests, and people eat plants. Do we want to kill them?

In conclusion, I believe deer should not be eradicated from NZ because it is a healthy food choice and it is a good sport for men and women to lose weight. I Believe that us ordinary people can make a change so they can live in this environment of Aotearoa.
